ISS crew isolated in the Russian module to search for air leaks on the American segment

Moscow. August 20. INTERFAX - The crew of the International Space Station (ISS) on Friday will close in the Russian module Zvezda while checking the pressure in the American segment of the station, the press service of Roscosmos told Interfax.

According to the ISS Russian Segment Main Operational Control Group (LOCT RS), on Friday, the crew members of the station will move to the Zvezda module in order to organize pressure control in the American segment modules, "the state corporation said on Thursday.
"During the period of stay (three days) on the Russian segment, the crew is scheduled to carry out regular work. There is no threat to the crew and the station," said Roskosmos.
The press service said that this procedure is reflected in the onboard documentation and is a joint decision of the control groups of the American and Russian segments of the ISS.
The previous time an air leak on the ISS was detected on the night of August 30, 2018. Then the crew checked all the compartments and found a man-made hole in the Soyuz MS-09 spacecraft. It was located in the utility compartment, and not in the descent vehicle, therefore it did not threaten the return of the spacecraft to Earth. Later, Russian cosmonauts injected a sealant into the discovered hole and covered it with patches, then using ultrasound they confirmed that there was no air leak.
In December 2018, Russian cosmonauts went into outer space to examine the hole from the outside and take samples of the sealant. The astronauts cut out parts of the spacecraft's micrometeorite shielding, then delivering them to Earth. The samples were handed over to investigators and sent to the FSB laboratory for study.
The commission to investigate the causes of the hole considered all possible versions of the incident. "However, until now, experts were inclined in favor of the version that the hole was unintentionally drilled without malicious intent during the preparation of the spacecraft for launch at the cosmodrome," a source familiar with the investigation said earlier.
Russian "Admiral Gorshkov" with "Zircons" predicted sinking

In the context of a military conflict, the Russian Project 22350 Admiral Gorshkov frigate with the Zircon hypersonic cruise missile (CR) will not be able to approach the American aircraft carrier strike group (AUG) sufficiently far and will be sunk, the Military Industrial Courier writes.

The newspaper claims that the warhead of a missile weighing 300-400 kilograms is enough to destroy an aircraft carrier, but this will not happen with a maximum weapon range of 600 kilometers. According to the publication, "Admiral Gorshkov", currently serving as the only carrier of "Zircon", on the way to the American aircraft carrier will be detected by an E-2 Hawkeye carrier-based early warning radar aircraft and destroyed by AUG aircraft.
“Actually, the planes will not even have to take off, because part of the aircraft wing carries out constant patrolling flights. They will sink the Project 22350 frigate before it comes close to the aircraft carrier, ”the newspaper writes.
The publication notes that the task of destroying an aircraft carrier can be solved by "transferring" a hypersonic missile to an attack nuclear submarine. “And this is a completely different matter. The depth of the AUG anti-submarine defense is about 400 kilometers. This is quite enough to avoid torpedo attacks, because the torpedo range is much shorter, ”the newspaper writes.
In February, TASS, referring to two sources in the power structures of the Northwestern Federal District,  reported that in January a promising hypersonic Zircon missile was launched from the Admiral Gorshkov frigate of Project 22350 for the first time. The test launch was carried out from the Barents Sea against a ground target at one of the military training grounds in the Northern Urals in accordance with the state test program. The missile's flight range exceeded 500 kilometers. After the completion of tests on the "Admiral Gorshkov", the rocket launches are planned to be carried out from nuclear submarines.
RCC "Progress" expects to resume launches under the OneWeb program in the IV quarter

The enterprise is ready to carry out about 10 launch campaigns by the end of 2020
MOSCOW, August 20. / TASS /. The Progress Rocket and Space Center (Samara) expects that launches under the OneWeb program will be resumed in the fourth quarter of this year. This was reported to TASS in the press service of the enterprise.
"<...> We look forward to the resumption of launches under the OneWeb program in the IV quarter of this year", - noted in the RCC.
The press service emphasized that the enterprise is ready to carry out about 10 launch campaigns by the end of 2020. "According to the OneWeb program, the exact number of launches of Soyuz-2 carrier rockets will be determined by the customer," the company explained.
OneWeb currently has 74 satellites in low stationary orbit and plans to launch hundreds of others. However, in March, the British company was forced to file for bankruptcy and reorganization after it failed to receive about $ 2 billion from a group of investors, including Japanese SoftBank.
In April, OneWeb asked the UK government for a £ 500 million (about $ 645 million) loan as part of a broader $ 2.2 billion funding package from private investors. However, London turned down the company, and has now decided to invest in its share capital to establish control over OneWeb.

For the first time, within the framework of the Army-2020 forum, the combat capabilities of modern air defense systems will be demonstrated

TSAMTO, August 20. Within the framework of the Army-2020 International Military-Technical Forum, a dynamic demonstration of the combat capabilities of Russian air defense systems will be held for the first time at the Ashuluk training ground.
The event will demonstrate the capabilities of echeloned air defense. On a dynamic display, the formed grouping of air defense units will reflect a massive missile and air strike of a potential enemy, which will be simulated by various types of air targets. Targets in their characteristics correspond to existing air attack weapons, including aerodynamic, ballistic targets and unmanned aerial vehicles.
The basis of the air defense grouping will be modern anti-aircraft missile systems S-400, S-300V4, Buk-M3, Tor, ZRPK Pantsir-S, combat vehicle Typhoon-Air Defense, the Aerospace Forces Information Support Group reports.
